Fibonacci Necklace
The Fibonacci sequence, (1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, 233…), was
coined by Leonardo of Pisa, in about 1175 A.D., and follows the pattern of
adding the last two numbers to get the next number. Straight out of the Da Vinci
Code, this ‘encoded’ necklace is sure to surprise readers and non-readers alike.
A scrambled version of the first 8 terms 13, 3, 2, 21, 1, 1, 8, 5 appears as a
clue left by the murdered Jacque Sauničre, in Dan Brown’s bestseller. For this
project we have used the un-scrambled sequence.

Materials
2- 25mmX6mm red horn beads
4- 8mm circle jade beads
6- 6mm circle white coral beads
10- 6mm circle red horn beads
16- 4mm circle jade beads
26- 3mm circle white coral beads
4- 7mm gold bead caps
4- 9mm gold bead caps
4- 8mm gold spacer beads
10- 4mm gold daisies
Gold ‘S’ clasp
2 gold crimp beads
Wrapped cameo or other centerpiece ( from our class called "Cab Mounting
Freeform")
2 ft. medium gauge soft flex beading wire
Tools
Wire cutters
Magical crimp forming tool or other crimp pliers
Steps
With tape on one end of the wire, string beads on in this order: 1 gold daisy,
13- 3mm white coral beads, 4 daisies, 8 4mm jade beads, 8mm gold spacer bead, 5-
6mm red horn beads, 8mm gold spacer bead, 3- 6mm white horn beads, 9mm bead cap,
2-8mm jade beads, 9mm bead cap, 7mm bead cap, 1-25X6mm red horn bead, 7mm bead
cap.
Put the wrapped cameo, or whatever centerpiece you choose on.
Reverse the order of the beads and string the other side of the necklace to
match the first half.
Size with extra beads on each end as necessary.
Install Clasp.
