Materials:
# 8 Griffin silk cord with needle
Assorted beads
Tools:
Awl or tweezers for tightening knots
Directions:
Unwind the silk cord from the card and run a damp washcloth over the silk.
Pull gently to remove kinks, then allow to dry.
Double the end of the cord and tie an overhand knot 21/2 inches from the end to create a loop.
Pull the knot tightly.
The loose end can be carried into the first bead using a flexible eye needle, or it can be trimmed and sealed with clear nail polish.
Add beads, knotting before and after each bead. After forming a loop, push the knot to the bead by placing an awl or tweezers into the knot and sliding it close to the bead.
To end, create another loop at the finish.
To create tassels, cut the loops and fray the two cords into four stands.
Using a fine flexible eye needle, thread mineral chips or small beads onto
the cords and knot.
