Wearable Art Galleria
We are having a Gala Grand Opening Celebration Wednesday April 16th from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.  If you can't join us at the E. 82nd Street store then join us on-line. We will be broadcasting a live webcast from 8:00 to 9:00 PM at http://beadsamore.com/show.htm. Uno's Bar & Grill is furnishing the Hors d'oeuvres. We are still expecting more sponsors for food and door prizes.

Its official! We have launched the Wearable Art Galleria. It is an area in the store that was specifically created to help our customers sell their creations. We are asking you our customers to apply to become a featured artist. We will be featuring a new artist every month. Once we feature the artist, we will create a website specifically for that artist's creations. We will help maintain it with the artist for at least a year. Please check out our first featured artist Nancy Miller at http://wearableartgalleria.com/about.asp. In the "About" section you can find out more details about becoming a featured artist yourself.

The green bridge repair project starts this month on 82nd Street in Indianapolis close to our Clearwater Crossing store. We have prepared an alternative routes map that should help you get to our store during the high traffic times of the day. You can check it out here or pick one up in the Indy store.

We have a beta test underway of an Internet Broadcast system. We will have our How-To's being broadcast 24 hours a day to test the tools. We will also be creating content for our live broadcast for the next couple of weeks. No telling what you might see there. The link is http://beadsamore.com/show.htm.

Beading Terminology  101:
Bead Tip:  A clamshell shaped metal finding used to hide knots and connect thread and wire to a clasp or finding. By using a bead tip on a fabric like thread or linen it will keep the fabric from fraying where it attaches to the clasp.
Knot Cover:  Similar to the Bead Tip this cover is used to hide the knot or crimp and providing a small metal ball at the end of a bead cord next to the clasp.
Split Ring:  Finding used to join two or more pieces of chain or other findings. The wire wraps around twice, like a mini key-ring, which makes it difficult for the piece to come apart.
Trade Bead:   Old glass beads, mainly made in Venice 200-400 years ago, used for trade in Africa and Asia. Usually large, cylindrical and very colorful.
